Zenun Skenderi was born on 31st October 1955 in Jablanica, Prizren, Republic of Kosovo. He finished elementary school in Prizren, enrolled technical high school „Gani Qavdarbashi“, in Prizren and finished it in 1974. During the period from 1974 until 2008 he enrolled University of Zagreb, Faculty of technology, and graduated at the same Faculty with the theme „Cotton attesting in the light of new directive (under the mentorship of Prof. Dubravka Raffaelli, PhD). He employed in Textile industry „Printeks“, Prizren, Republic of Kosovo, and at the same time enrolled Master study at the University of Zagreb Faculty of technology. He finished his master of science study in 1986 with the theme „Impact of cotton fibers and technology on physical properties of yarn“ under the mentorship of Prof. Vladimir Orešković, PhD. In 1998 he finished his PhD study at the University of Zagreb Faculty of textile technology with the theme “Impact of spinning force on cotton yarn properties” under the mentorship of Prof. Petar Perić, PhD. He has been working at the University of Zagreb Faculty of textile technology, first as Assistant and then as Lecturer (1999), Ass. Prof. (1999), Associated Professor (2004), Professor (2009). He has published 140 papers.
His areas of research interest are spinning, nonwoven and technical textile, comfort of fabrics, composites and footwear.
