Thickness Gauging testing device model 2000-U for thickness measuring

Under the project Comfort and antimicrobial properties of textiles and footwear, funded by National Science Foundation, a new thickness measuring instrument was purchased.

Thickness meter was purchased from the company HESS MBV GmbH, from Sonsbeck, Germany. The precision Thickness Gauging testing device model 2000-U is testing thickness of textile fabrics and leather according to DIN EN ISO 5084, ISO 9073-2 and DIN EN ISO 2589.

Measurement range is from 0 to 10 mm (digital scaling of 0.01 mm), where with pressure foots of 0.785 cm2, 25 cm2 20 cm2 and additional weights of 102.0 g, 183.6 g and 372.6 g pressure of 0.1 kPa, 0.5 kPa, 1.0 kPa and 49.1 kPa can be obtained.


EFS 800 Electronic yarn feeder

Under the project Comfort and antimicrobial properties of textiles and footwear, funded by National Science Foundation, five new MEMMINGER IRO GMBH Electronic yarns feeders EFS 800 were purchased as it follows:

The Electronic Yarn EFS 800 is designed to feed elastic and non-elastic yarns with yarn tension control. The sensor measures the yarn tension and adjusts the feed speed according to preset values. Two modes are available: Constant yarn tension or Remote control yarn tension.


Compressor Piston Jumbo C50K-500/5,5 FIMA

Under the project Comfort and antimicrobial properties of textiles and footwear, funded by National Science Foundation, a FIMA Piston Compressor was purchased as it follows:

  5. Three-phase plug 16A 400V commel

FIMA belt drive two stage air compressor, with air tanks from 500 litres and working pressure up to 10 bars. When working under high pressure requirements, the two stage technology comes into operation with two different size cylinders and with an intermediate cooling system. This enables the reduction of the workload and maintains a high volume in both cylinders. This results in a highly efficient machine able to accompany the user in the most challenging circumstances.


PicoPress – device for measuring restraint pressure

Under the project Comfort and antimicrobial properties of textiles and footwear, funded by National Science Foundation, PicoPress, a device for measuring restraint pressure was purchased as it follows:

  2. 5 transducers for measuring restraint pressure

PicoPress is a device for measuring restraint pressure, both in static and dynamic conditions. PicoPress is characterized by its extreme simplicity of use; it does not need any initial calibration. After the pressure sensor is placed, you only need to activate the dedicated piston integrated in the device, in order to have the reading of the restraint pressure.


The tensile tester Tensolab 3000 clamps for specific testing of textile and leather

Under the project Comfort and antimicrobial properties of textiles and footwear, funded by National Science Foundation, a new clamps for tensile tester Tensolab 3000 was purchased as it follows:
